WELCOME TO MENTAL MILESTONE - a progressive rockband from Denmark.

Finally we have completed two excerpts from our project "Aspects of a man".

The album will contain approximately 70 minutes of music, when it is finished. The music will have a great variaty - from parts that are rather soft and mellow to the really heavy stuff - with Pushing The Needle representing the heavy stuff and Man In a Hurry representing something in between.

The story
Aspects of a man is a story about a man who is struck with doubt and sadness about his whole life. As a result of a serious accident with his car he is taken to the hospital in a serious condition. Subconciously he knows that he is on the brink of life and that he will have to fight hard to survive. But will it be worth the effort? What is the perspective? His mind is forcing him into facing the life he has been living until the accident - it is in some way a very peaceful situation - until The Grim Reaper comes to get him.

We will not reveal what happens next. But the story and the lyrics are accumulated feelings about and comments on the way we all live our lives and try to get through the day. It is pain, joy, deception, anger and much more.

Our own gear
We have recorded the music in our own studio, and all the devices used are our own. Though we have invested quite a lot of money in them, it is not a million dollar studio, but somehow it is much closer to what music is about, we think. Generally we think the sound is rather good.

Mental Milestone is working on a site on MySpace with uploaded pictures and music, and we are very excited about getting reactions from other people to our music.

The possibility of being exposed on MySpace will be very useful to our band in order to promote our music. At the same time MySpace gives us possibility to get in contact with many other bands with whom we have common interests. There is a great deal of exciting bands out there.

For a start we will upload excerpts of our work, "Aspects of a man". At that time we will also inform a bit more about the whole project.

At this point of time Povl Henneberg has his profile on MySpace, and in the near future we will all have our profiles on MySpace along with the profile of Mental Milestone.

Mental Milestone is currently working on a concept album. At the present time the title is "Aspects of a man" which indicates the contents of the project very well.

Until now we have recorded most of the basic tracks. We have many different sources of inspiration, which is natural since we have been musicians for many, many years. We have all been listening to many different kinds of music and artists. Among others we are inspired by Dream Theater, Yes, Steve Vai, Toto, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kansas and many, many more.

Our style is hard to describe. We have a melodic approach to what we do, and we like to play both soft and hard and everything in between, as long as it fits into the basic idea of the project.

When the project is finished it will contain approximately 70 minutes of non stop music. We find it much more challenging to make one peace of music instead of for example 13 different and separated pieces. The whole idea is to tell a story, written by Povl Henneberg, who besides being a drummer also is a lyricist and a writer. 

At a later point of time there will be more details about the contents of the album and the idea of the story, but we intend to take you through a musical journey and try to tell a story about what this crazy life also is about.

The proces of making the music has been very long, and we have exceeded a great deal of our own limits on our way. Doing so has really been a good experience to us, as it shows us that we are still "alive and kicking" in a musical sense.

Ofcourse many ideas have been tried and not becoming a part of the project, but lots of ideas new to us have come up, due to a very open minded approach to what we are doing.

Now we are not so far away from the result of our work. Ofcourse we are very excited about getting reactions from other people, when it is finished, and on this site you hopefully will be able to hear samples of our work before too long.
